Leah Kate: 6 month update

Six months used to sound like a long time, but it feels like yesterday when Leah was born! She has grown so much since then- she now weighs 19 pounds and 1 ounce. Holding our friends' newborn last week made me realize how much Leah Kate has changed in the past few months. She is now sitting up by herself! She falls over a lot but doesn't need our help as often. She is now rolling over ALL of the time, and she scoots around the floor on her back. I will look away for ONE second, and she will have moved across the floor :) I can't imagine trying to keep her contained once she begins to crawl! She loves to touch her toes and put her feet on things. I don't know why that cracks us up so much! My pictures didn't turn out quite as good this time... Somebody kept squirming!

Leah Kate LOVES to eat solid food! Her favorites are apples, bananas, pears, and sweet potatoes. She tolerates carrots, squash, and rice cereal. I am going to try peas next! That should be interesting! I have enjoyed making her baby food with my Baby Bullet. It is so much easier than I thought it would be! I feel like it is healthier and saves money too!

She is becoming more aware of who Jeremy and I are, and she is starting to get a little upset when we leave the room... She does well as long as somebody is giving her attention! Her favorite toy right now is her bouncer. She has figured out how to manipulate the toys on it. I love watching her learn new things. She is babbling so much- which of course I love!

Celebrating Leah Kate's first Easter was so much fun! She actually enjoyed looking in her basket and reaching for the toys. We had fun having friends over from church for lunch. Our sweet friends, Robert and Jessica, made Leah a "half" birthday cake to celebrate her turning 6 months. It was so cute! Hoping the next six months slow down a little! I am trying to make sure and savor these moments while she is changing so fast!

I have to end with the sweetest picture of ALL time!
